Can you imagine having a shortage of blood supply? Now, that's scary! You now have to opportunity to make a difference. George Mason Intercollegiate Athletics will host the sixth annual Colonial Athletic Association Blood Challenge on Monday, November 5, 2007 on the Fairfax Campus. The blood drive will be held in the JC Dewberry Hall, from 9:30- 4:30 p.m. and 4:30 - 9:00 p.m. in the Hanover Hall Lounge.
All participants who attempt to donate will receive a school challenge t-shirt. Make your life-saving appointment today for Dewberry Hall by calling Nena Rogers, director of life skills, at 703 993-3594 or e-mail at nrogers1@gmu.edu. To schedule an appointment for Hanover Hall, please contact Kelly Ferguson at (703) 993-2396 or kfergus3@gmu.edu. The average donation last about thirty minutes, but please allow up to one hour for your donation. Walk-ins are always welcomed.
INOVA Blood Donor Services will have several collection stations set up in both locations for blood donations by appointments and walk-ins. The CAA Blood Challenge has been very successful in the past for Mason, as our participation has improved over the years.
The CAA Blood Challenge was developed in 2002 by the league presidents as a fun way to emphasize the critical importance of donating blood. Each institution promotes the event on campus and encourages student groups, faculty, staff and alumni to participate and support their school.
