The George Mason golf team stands in 19th place after the first round of the 28th annual ODU-Seascape Collegiate Golf Tournament played at the Seascape golf course in Kitty Hawk, NC. The Patriots are one stroke behind CAA rival James Madison and two strokes behind Drexel and St. Josephs. Wofford leads the event with a 283, one stroke better Than the University of Hartford in the 21-team event.
Silas Vansky leads the Patriots after shooting a five-over par 75 at the par 70, 6,131 yard course. The Patriots Tyler Frank carded a 37-40=77 to end the day tied for 59th overall. Senior J.J. Amoruso and Marshall Tinsley both shot a round of 79 to stand in 74th place individually.
There is a three-way tied for first place individually with Neil Briain (Wofford) Jimmy Lytle (Elon) and Jordan Utley (Richmond) all at 67. Both Lytle and Utley Shot 32 on the front.
The final round is Tuesday.
