J.J. Amoruso won his first individual title after carding an even par 71 in both rounds capturing the Big 5 Invitational at the par-71, 6,867 yard Philadelphia Cricket Club in Flourtown, Pa. Amoruso edged out Craig Kublin of Boston College who shot one-over par today after entering the day tied with the Mason senior.

Amoruso becomes the first Patriot to win an individual title since October 2005 when Mike Kirby won the Frank Landrey and the James Madison Invitationals. The senior's previous top finish was a second place medal at the Georgetown Invitational last October at The Members Club at Four Streams.

The Patriots team didn't fare as well finishing the tournament in 13th place overall. Freshman Marshall Tinsley recorded an 81 today to finish tied for 56th. Clark Bixler shot three strokes better today than yesterday, but finished tied for 68th. Andrew Maryan shot 84 on both days.

George Mason returns to action next Monday and Tuesday at the Georgetown Invitational at Four Streams in Maryland.
