Fairfax, Va.--George Mason University sophomore Ryan Metzker (Springfield, Va.) and senior Colleen Flack (Langhorne, Pa.) each earned the honor of Colonial Athletic Association co-Diver of the Week for their respective gender. Sean Corbet (UNCW) shared the honors with Metzker, while Kate Hynes (Drexel) was the other female diver of the week.
Metzker won three of his four events this past weekend as Mason defeated Marry Washington on Jan. 26 where the sophomore claimed both individual diving titles. Metzker collected a score of 269.17 in the 1-meter event and then tallied 252.00 points in the 3-meter. The following day, Metzker claimed the 1-meter title (260.65) and then went on to place second in the 3-meter event (251.20) against American, Old Dominion and Army.
Flack won both diving events in Mason's victory over Mary Washington as the senior posted a score of 269.17 in the 1-meter event, which was proceeded by a 259.72 showing in the 3-meter. Flack went on to claim the individual title in the 1-meter the next day with a score of 245.05 and also placed third in the 3-meter (226.60).
This marks the third time this season in which Metzker has received this honor (Nov. 21 and Jan. 17) and the second for Flack (Nov. 21).
The Patriots will compete in their final dual meet of the 2006-07 season as Mason hosts Georgetown on Feb. 2 at 5 p.m.
