George Mason senior Robby Jacobsen concluded a tremendous four-year career this past weekend and he now has another accolade to add to his long list of accomplishments as he was selected to the All-CAA second team at the utility position. Jacobsen played 30 games in the outfield and 21 games at catcher this past season. Alex Buchholz of Delaware was first-team All-CAA at utility as well as being named the CAA Rookie of the Year.

Jacobsen led the Patriots in every meaningful statistical category this season, as he batted .326 with 71 hits in 218 at bats. He had 11 homers, 16 doubles, 37 RBI and 42 runs scored. He also was 20 of 24 in stolen bases. For his career, he finished all-time top 10 at Mason in games started, at-bats, hits, runs, home runs, RBI, doubles, steals and total bases. He made just three errors this season and only 14 in his career. He finished his career with a streak of 164 straight starts, dating back to his freshman year. He is one of two players in school history with 30 homers, 50 doubles, 50 steals, 200 hits, 150 runs and 100 RBI. He made just 14 errors in four seasons.

Jacobsen wasn't the only Patriot honored with a conference honor as three Patriots were selected to the CAA All-Rookie Team. First baseman Scott Krieger, outfielder Spencer Wiggins and reliever Jordan Flasher were all selected to the team, which is comprised of 11 players. Krieger batted .303 this year with eight homers and 15 doubles. He drove in 30 runs and scored 27 runs. He saw some time in left field as well as at first. His eight homers were second on the All-Rookie Team to Buchholz' 18.

Wiggins hit .287 with a .373 on-base percentage and he stole 12 of 14 bases. He played both left and center fields for the Patriots. His 12 steals were the most of those players chosen to the All-Rookie team. Like Krieger, Wiggins started 48 of Mason's 51 games.

Flasher appeared in 25 games as a freshman, one shy of tying the school record for appearances in a season. He paced Mason with four saves and a 4.34 ERA. He also had a 3-1 record and struck out 26 batters in 29 innings, holding the opposition to a .248 batting average. Flasher's four saves were tops among pitchers selected to the All-Rookie Team.

Kellen Kulbacki of James Madison was named the CAA Player of the Year, becoming only the second sophomore to take home that honor. He hit .473 with 23 homers and 73 RBI. He enters the CAA Tournament as the conference's Triple Crown winner. He also has a shot at winning the NCAA's Triple Crown.

Sergio Miranda of Virginia Commonwealth was selected the Defensive Player of the Year. He was Rookie of the Year in 2005. Jerry Meyers of Old Dominion was named the Coach of the Year in his second season at ODU. Under his direction, the Monarchs rose as high as No. 15 in the polls and put together an 18-game winning streak.

The conference tournament begins on Wednesday afternoon in Wilmington, N.C.
