Fairfax, Va.--George Mason freshman Ali Bryan (Midland Park, N.J.) earned Colonial Athletic Association Co-Pitcher of the Week honors as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. Bryan shares this honor with Elizabeth Hyman of Georgia State.
Bryan collected two wins on the week as she was on the mound all seven innings in Mason's 1-0 win over Norfolk State (April 26) and also pitched the entire game against UNC Wilmington to help lead the Patriots to a 1-0 victory on April 29.
Bryan pitched a two-hit shutout against the Spartans and did not walk anyone, and then went on to collect another shutout three days later against the Seahawks. On the week, Bryan tallied an ERA of 0.00 in 14 innings of work at George Mason Field as she allowed only eight total hits, five strikeouts and walked one of the 55 batters she faced.
The Patriots will wrap-up their regular season this weekend as Mason will compete against Georgia State in Atlanta, Ga. with a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. on May 6.
