PRINCETON, N.J. - The Mason men's golf team is tied for third after one round of play at the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club. The tournament was shortened due to rain from 54 holes to 36 with 18 holes Saturday and 18 Sunday.
Columbia and Penn are tied at the top of a tight field at +20 on the day with Villanova, George Mason and Princeton tied at +22.
Keegan Bradley of St. John's is the individual leader halfway through, firing a 2-under 69. Chris Condello of Columbia is the only other player in red numbers, shooting a 1-under 70. Dean Merrill of Penn is in third at 1-over, while the top Patriot is Dan Hurley tied for seventh after shooting a 38-37-75, 4-over par.
Mason's Nick DeSimone and Matt Cavanagh are just one and two strokes behind Hurley, which places them tied for 15th and 22nd respectively. Senior Mike Kirby fired a 37-41=78, placing him tied for 27th going into Sunday's round.
Sunday's round will begin at 8:15 a.m.
