BOSTON - Freshman Murielle Ahoure finished in first place in the 60-meter dash and in second place in the 200-meter dash at the ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston, Mass.
Ahoure finished the finals of the 60-meter dash in 7.47 seconds. Her next closest competitor was Jessica Foreman of the University of Connecticut, who finished in 7.55 seconds. Teammate Misti Turner made the semifinals of the event, but didn't qualify for the finals. In the 200-meter dash, Ahoure recorded a time of 24.04 seconds, a new personal best, topping her previous high of 24.24 seconds, set on the first day of competition at the ECAC Championships. The time is a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships, held next weekend at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Ahoure is also on the provisional list in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.42 seconds.
Both Brittanie Williams and Ryann Hendricks competed in the triple jump, with Williams finishing 13th with a leap of 11.50 meters (37 ft. 8 ¾ in.) and Hendricks placing 19th with a jump of 11.05 meters (36 ft. 3 in.). Hendricks also competed in the long jump, finishing eighth with a mark of 5.59 meters (18 ft. 4 ¼ in.).
In the team scoring, Mason finished tied for 16th place with 19 points. Georgetown finished first with 65 points.
