BOSTON - No. 6 Boston University snapped George Mason's three-game winning streak with a 13-6 victory on Saturday afternoon at Nickerson Field in Boston, Mass. With the loss, the Patriots fall to 3-2 on the season, while the Terriers improve to 3-2 with the win.

Boston University's attack was led by sophomore Jenny Hauser, who scored four goals, and senior Lindsay Lewis, who added three goals. The Patriots' six goals were scored by a trio of players. Sophomore Laura King led the way with three goals, while junior Melissa Venturi chipped in two and senior Sarah Bryant added one.

After the Patriots struck first with a tally by King just 1:33 into the contest, Lewis tallied all three of her goals in a span of 1:41 to give the Terriers a lead they would never relinquish. The three-goal spurt by Lewis kick-started a 5-0 run, which was capped by consecutive goals by senior Mary Beth Miller. Bryant and King pulled Mason within two goals at 5-3 with back-to-back tallies midway through the opening half.

BU responded with four straight goals to take a 9-3 lead with under a minute to play before intermission. Freshman Sarah Dalton found the back of the net on a free-position attempt before junior Angie Martin sent home a great pass from Miller. Hauser closed out the spurt with her first two goals of the contest. Venturi scored the first of her two goals with just four seconds left to make it a 9-4 affair at the half.

Junior Lauren Morton kicked off the second-half scoring by netting BU's 10th goal on a free-position try. After the Patriots' offense provided consecutive goals to get within four at 10-6, the George Mason defense stepped up by holding the Terriers' scoreless for over 17 minutes. However, BU scored the final three goals of the game, including two from Hauser, to extend its home winning streak to 15 games.

George Mason returns home on Saturday, March 25 to face St. Joseph's at 1 p.m. at George Mason Stadium.
