OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Redshirt freshman Tyler Tisdell (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) dropped a 5-3 decision to Michael Poeta of Illinois on Friday morning in the consolation bracket of the 165-pound weight class at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, held at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. The loss eliminates Tisdell from championship competition.

Tisdell lost both of his matches at the championships to end the season at 28-10 overall. He also fell 12-5 to third-seeded Muzaffar Abdurakhmanov of American in the first round of the 165-pound weight class.

Poeta received a bye in the first round of the tournament, then dropped a 3-1 decision to Travis Paulson of Iowa State in the second round to fall to the consolation bracket.

The championships continue tomorrow with Session V scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. eastern time. The sixth and final session begins at 7:30 p.m. eastern time.
