Mason Golf Tied for Third going into Final Round at Georgetown Invitational

Beallsville, Md. - Aided by the lone score under-par for the day, the College of William & Mary shot a 15-over par 299 and leads the field of 12 teams at the 22nd Annual Hoya Invitational, being held at the Members Club at Four Streams. The course at the Members Club at Four Streams, a par-71, 6,718 yard course, was orchestrated by Steve Smyers and PGA Tour veteran Nick Price.

Five teams are within four strokes of the Tribe's lead, led by second place Akron, who is two strokes off the pace at 17-over par 301. George Mason is tied for third place at 19-over par 303 with Eastern Michigan, Towson and host Georgetown.

William & Mary senior Matt Brantingham fired a three-under par 68, two strokes off the course record, to lead the field of 64 golfers. Brantingham was aided by seven birdies, including four on the back nine when he shot a three-under par 32.

George Mason had two golfers finish in the top 10 led by junior J.J. Amoruso, who shot a two-over-par 73 and stands tied for fifth place. Nick DeSimone is currently in eighth place after shooting a 38-36=74. Freshman Justin Wingo shot a 77 and Dan Hurley a 79 to round out the Patriots scoring.

Final round play on Sunday tees off at 8:30 a.m.
