Fairfax, Va.--The George Mason swimming and diving teams hosted a tri meet this afternoon at the Aquatics Center competing against Mary Washington and Marymount University. The women's team swept all five dual meets this weekend and the men finished 4-1.
The Patriot women defeated Mary Washington (128.00-66.00) and Marymount (151.00-77.00). The men posted similar margins of victory, beating Mary Washington (121.00-78.00) and Marymount (139.00-64.00).

Freshman Allie Smith won the 200 yard backstroke for the second straight day and finished first in the 200 yard IM (2:12.53). Sarah Bizer finished first in the 100 yard freestyle for the second straight meet with a time of 52.88 and as a member of the 400 yard medley relay team. Junior Liz Ouzts finished second in the 200 yard IM and also swam the anchor of the winning medley team.
The Patriot men also had success finishing in the top four places in the 200 yard IM. Junior Joe Houchin finished first in a time of 1:58.39; followed by Ross Redcay, BJ Dufresne, and Matt McGillicuddy. Mason's Eric Wellington and Eric Knight finished in second and third in the 50 yard freestyle behind Mary Washington's Dale Parker. Wellington won the 100 yd. freestyle by three seconds with a time of 47.89.
Other Mason medalist include Matt Elko and Justine Blaho, who finished second in the 200 yard backstroke; Brittany Surkovich came in second in the 200 yard butterfly and Lacy Richardson and Rebecca Jimenez, who finished second and third in the 50 yd. freestyle.
The Patriot men and women divers competed against themselves in both the 1 meter and 3 meter events as neither Mary Washington nor Marymount fielded a competitor.
