Chris Fournier was 3 for 4 with four RBI and Chris Looze hit the 44th home run of his George Mason career as the Patriots rallied against Delaware for three runs in the final two innings to defeat the Blue Hens, 7-4 at Newark, Del. in a Colonial Athletic Association game. Mason completed a three-game sweep of Delaware and moved into third place in the CAA.

Looze hit a solo home run in the first inning to give Mason a 1-0 lead. He is now one home run behind Ralph Schmidt for first place on the Mason all-time list. In the third, Mason added three runs, one on a Robby Jacobsen single, the other two on a Fournier double. Jacobsen drove in Matt Cooksey as the senior centerfielder scored the 206th run of his career, breaking a tie with Jeff Palumbo for first on the all-time runs list. Palumbo set his mark last season.

Delaware (21-25, 9-9) rallied for a run in the fifth and added three more in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 4-4. Bryan Hagerich and Brandon Manchaca hit back-to-back one-out singles to chase Mason starter Jared Petrovich, who gave up three runs on six hits in six and one-third innings. Dan Richardson, Brent Rogers and Ryan Graham greeted reliever Eric Gibbons with three straight singles to make it 4-4. Gibbons was able to close out the inning, though, and Mason immediately retook the lead in the eighth.

Chris Fournier singled to lead off the eighth, went to second on an error, advanced to third on a ground out and scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of Matt York. In the ninth, Mason extended the lead when Fournier hit a two-run home run to score Jacobsen.

Jason Mills earned the win, pitching the final two innings in relief, striking out the side in the eighth and getting two more punchouts in the ninth.

Mason (30-16, 12-9) plays again on Tuesday when the Patriots host George Washington at 3 p.m.
