The George Mason baseball team's three-game series with James Madison won't begin on Friday as originally scheduled due to the heavy rain that has been falling in Fairfax. As a result, the series opener has been postponed and the teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday.

The Patriots will host the Dukes in a nine-inning contest beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first game, the second game will begin. The second affair will be a seven-inning contest.

The teams will conclude their series on Sunday with a 1 p.m. game. The Patriots have already clinched a spot in the CAA Tournament which begins on Wednesday at UNC Wilmington. James Madison needs a sweep of the Patriots to get into the tournament, or the Dukes need to win 2 of 3 while William & Mary does not win more than one game.

Brent Hitz will start the series opener for Mason while Stacen Gant takes the mound in the second game. Jared Petrovich will get the nod in the regular-season finale. James Madison sends Brian Leatherwood to the mound in the series opener.
