PRINCETON, N.J. - Senior Marc Kellman (Coram, N.Y.) finished fourth overall in the long jump and automatically qualified for the NCAA East Regional Championships after posting a season-best leap of 7.51m at the 129th annual Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America (IC4A) Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday.
Kellman's fourth-place showing earned five points for the Patriots at the IC4A meet, where Mason sits in 18th place. Liberty currently leads all teams with 36 points, followed by Manhattan (32) and William & Mary (25).

Senior Ricardo Cunningham (Clarendon, Jamaica) ran a personal best 1:50.16 in the 800m trials, besting his previous high of 1:50.70. He finished second overall in the preliminaries and advances to Sunday's finals.
Graduate student Mike Garner (Frederick, Md.) recorded the fastest preliminary time (10.50) in the 100m dash and finished seventh in the trials of the 200m dash in a time of 21.29, placing .10 seconds off the NCAA minimum of 21.19. He advances to Sunday's finals in both events. Junior Sammy Sesay registered a season-best time of 10.56 in placing third in the 100m prelims to also advance to the final. He is seeking an NCAA minimum time of 10.50.
Freshman Brian Hay (Kingston, Jamaica) narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Regional meet in the 110m hurdles, where he placed seventh in the trials. His season-best time of 14.39 was .06 seconds off the NCAA minimum standard. Hay advances to the finals where he will get one last opportunity to gain an automatic bid to the Regional.
The Patriot 4x100m relay team of Kellman, Garner, Sesay and senior Justin Hernandez (Fairfax, Va.) reached the finals after finishing eighth with a time trial of 41.49.
The IC4A Championships conclude Sunday.
