Fairfax, Va...April 8, 2005...Sophomore Tom Koucheravy (Fairfax, Va.) qualified for the U.S. World Championship Swimming Trials and competed in the 1,650-freestyle in Indianapolis, Ind. on April 4.

Koucheravy shaved eight seconds from his entry time to finish in 10th place with a time of 15:54.31, moving up from 25th place. The event was won by Olympic silver medalist Larsen Jensen.
