(April 8, 2005) The women's tennis won their fourth straight match, winning 4-3 against Radford today at the George Mason tennis courts. The win improves the Patriots to 8-8 on the season.
The Patriot netters swept through the three doubles matches for the first point of the day. Mason's Andreea Fusea and Maricel Ballester are in sync as a team, beating the Highlanders Daniela Milano and Ashton Downs, 8-4, for their fourth straight win. Jenn Dektas and Jamie Delorie bounced back from defeat on Wednesday and won 8-2 against Camila Noldin and Caroline Downs. Katie Sloper and freshman Julia Moscato played Cassandra Price and Jessica Nixon, and came out with a 8-3 win to complete the sweep.
The two teams split the singles matches with Mason winning the No. 1, 3 and 6 positions. Junior Andreea Fusea continued to dominate as of late, winning 6-1, 6-1 against Noldin at the top singles spot. Jenn Dektas lost only one game in her 6-1, 6-0 victory against Milano and freshman Julia Moscato defeated Nixon, 6-2, 6-3.
The team's host conference rival UNC Wilmington on Saturday at 11 a.m.
