NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (April 21, 2005) - Seventh-seeded George Mason rolled past #10 Drexel 4-0 in first round action of the 2005 CAA Women's Tennis Championship at Huntington Park Tennis Center in Newport News, Va.
Mason didn't lose a match in getting past Drexel. The Patriots earned the doubles point with an 8-2 victory from their number one team of Andrea Fusea/Maricel Ballester and an 8-0 triumph from Jenn Dektas/Jamie Delorie at number two. In singles, the Patriots got a 6-1, 6-0 win from Ballester at number two, a 6-1, 6-2 victory from Dektas at number three and a 6-1, 6-2 triumph from Katie Sloper at number five.
The Patriots will face #2 Virginia Commonwealth at 2 p.m. on Friday.
