Mason Lacrosse on the Road for Next Two Games

FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason's women's lacrosse team returns to Colonial Athletic Association competition this weekend with games at Drexel Friday at 3 p.m. and at 13th-ranked Hofstra Sunday at 1 p.m.Sunday's match-up against the Pride will be broadcast live via the internet on Hofstra's radio station. The Patriots, who are 3-1 in the CAA for the first time since 2002 and sit in a tie for second in the standings, are 4-8 overall entering Friday's match against the Dragons. Drexel is 2-3 in the league and 9-3 overall and tied for fifth in the standings.

The Pride, who leads the conference with a 4-1 record, saw their seven-game win streak snapped last Sunday as they fall to 11-2 on the season. Hofstra entertains James Madison Friday afternoon before hosting George Mason Sunday.

Several other important CAA games are on the ledger this weekend as the conference race heats up. The top four teams at the end of the regular season advance to the 2005 CAA Tournament, being held Apr. 30-May 1, at the tournament's highest seed.
