George Mason senior Josh Morrison has pitched in more than 50 games in his career as a Patriot but none of his previous performances have ever been quite as dominating as he effort last Monday.

Facing Virginia Tech, Morrison threw a complete game shutout, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out 11. That trip to the mound did more than just earn him and the Patriots a win. It also earned Morrison the Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week award. This is the first time Morrison has received that honor.

Morrison is the third Mason player honored this year and second straight pitcher. Last week, Stacen Gant was named Pitcher of the Week for a complete game win over Fordham. The week before, third baseman Chris Fournier was named Player of the Week after compiling game-winning RBI in Mason's first four wins.

The Patriots are in action on Tuesday as they play a doubleheader against Coastal Carolina. The Patriots were originally schedled to play Coastal Carolina on Tuesday and Wednesday but the expectation of poor weather on Wednesday altered the schedule. The Tuesday doubleheader begins at 1 p.m.
