Fairfax, Va.--George Mason took home three of the four honors handed out by the Colonial Athletic Association on Feb. 8 for the league's final men's and women's swimming and diving performers of the week of the 2004-05 season.

Freshman Sarah Bizer (Annandale, Va./Annandale) was tabbed women's swimmer of the week, while teammate Mary Campioli (Sr.; Falls Church, Va./Bishop O'Connell) won the diver of the week award. On the men's side, Mason sophomore Tom Koucheravy (Fairfax, Va./James W. Robinson) claimed swimmer of the week honors.

Bizer earned her first swimmer of the week award this season as she won two events in the Patriots' win over George Washington on Feb. 5. Bizer claimed the 50-freestyle in a time of 24.30 and the 100-freestyle in 54.20. The freshman from Annandale, Va. also swam the fourth leg of the 200-medley relay team that captured first place in a time of 1:48.73.

Campioli collected her second diver of the week honor of the 2004-05 season, with her previous honor coming on Jan. 18. Campioli won the one-meter diving event with a score of 275.09 and was also tops in the three-meter (282.30) in Mason's victory over the Colonials. It was the sixth time this season in which Campioli claimed both events.

Koucheravy was named swimmer of the week for the first time this year as he dominated the 1,000-freestyle in the Patriots' win over GWU with a time of 9:33.65, nearly seven seconds faster than the second place finisher. Koucheravy also claimed the 500-freestyle as he finished in a time of 4:39.61.

The Patriots will return to action on Feb. 23-26 when Mason hosts the 2005 Swimming & Diving Championships at the Aquatic & Fitness Center. Both of Mason's teams closed out their Colonial Athletic Association regular season with a flawless conference dual meet record of 7-0.
