Annapolis, Md.--The George Mason tennis team lost their season opener 5-0 to Navy Saturday afternoon at the Severn Valley Tennis and Fitness Club in Maryland.

Navy lost only seven games in winning the five contested singles matches in straight sets. Stephan Dufils played at the No. 1 singles position and was bested 6-1, 6-3 by Navy's Brandon Carter. The team's lone senior Tim Bainton was defeated 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 2 position, while Eric Vogel, Miles Hughes and Rob Santos each won only one game in their matches at No. 3-5.

The Patriots are back in action at CAA foe William and Mary on February 26th.
