DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Competition concluded on Saturday in the Colonial Athletic Association four-team swimming and diving pod meet at Davidson College. In the final team standings, George Mason's men's team posted head-to-head wins over Davidson, College of Charleston and Drexel, while the Patriots on the women's side defeated Drexel and Davidson, but fell to the CofC by one point.
Mason's men's and women's 200 medley relay teams claimed victories to start the day with Davidson coming in second in both events. The Patriots' Allie Smith out-swam the competition in both the 200 back and 500 free, while Davidson sophomore Fiete Stegger and senior Megan Hollar turned in double-win performances on the day as well.
Both consistent point-scorers for the Wildcats, Stegger won the men's 100 free and 200 IM as Hollar raced to victories in the 200 breast and 200 IM.
Drexel's Kate Hynes and Brett Molash captured today's diving events with Hynes taking first in the women's 3-meter and Molash winning the men's 1-meter. Other event winners included Charleston's Jenna Tsaikovsky (100 free) and Sarah Ailsworth (100 fly), Mason's Tim Norton (200 back) and Tom Koucheravy (500 free), Drexel's Gergely Nagy (200 breast) and Davidson's Brad Poole (100 fly).
To end the day, Charleston's women and Davidson's men won the 400 free relay events.
Mason will return to action at its own Patriot Invitational at the Aquatic & Fitness Center on Nov. 18-20.
