Harrisonburg, Va.--George Mason had two players finish in the Top 10 after the first two rounds to lead the Patriots to a second-place tie in the James Madison University Men's Invitational Golf Tournament. Liberty had rounds of 279 and 281 for a 36-hole score of 560 on the 6,517-yard, par-71 Lakeview Golf Course. The Flames hold a one-stroke lead over Mason (279-282--561) and James Madison (285-276--561) entering Tuesday's final round of the 54-hole event.
The Patriots Mike Kirby is tied for second one shot off leader James Madison's Jay Lindell, after he shot a six-under par (66-70--136) in the 67-player event. Dan Hurley cracked the top 10 shooting a two-round total (71-68--139) just four strokes off the lead.
Mason's other scoring individuals include Mike Cavanagh at 75-70--145 (tied for 33), Nick DeSimone 72-74--146 (tied for 38) and David Murname at 70-79--149 (tied for 54).
