Fairfax, VA-Chris Looze (Amherst, Mass./Amherst Regional) batted .500 (8-16) with a homer, 10 RBI and five runs scored to lead George Mason to a 4-0 week, including a three-game sweep of CAA foe Old Dominion. The junior first baseman drove in the game-winning run in three of those victories, including a walk-off three-run homer in Saturday's 7-4 triumph over the Monarchs. For the season, Looze is batting .377 with 37 RBI.
Looze is the sixth Patriot baseball player to be honored by the CAA this season. Adam Innerst received the honor last week, Jeff Palumbo was Co-Player of the Week (2/24), Josh Campbell was Rookie of the Week (3/9), Jake Glanzmann was Pitcher of the Week (3/23) and Stacen Gant was Co-Pitcher of the Week (3/2).
The Patriots are back in action at home on Tuesday, April 06, 2004 against Maryland-Baltimore County and play a key conference series at UNC-Wilmington over the weekend.
