HARRISONBURG, Va., April 16, 2004 - The George Mason University women's tennis team lost 7-0 to Colonial Athletic Association foe James Madison on Friday afternoon at JMU's Hillside Tennis Courts. The Dukes won all three double matches and all six singles contests en route to the victory.
All the singles matches were handled by JMU in straight sets, except for the number two singles were Jenn Detkas battled Kristen Veith to two tie-breakers, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-4).
JMU improves to 12-6 overall and 3-1 in the CAA, while the Patriots fall to 5-12 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
The women's tennis team will be back in action tomorrow at the GMU tennis courts in double-header action with the men's team against Delaware, beginning at noon.
