April 13, 2004

The rain that has hit the East Coast over the past two days had an impact on George Mason athletics as three of the four teams scheduled to compete had their contests postponed. The baseball, lacrosse and men's tennis teams all will have to wait at least a day to take on their regularly-scheduled opponents.

The No. 20 lacrosse team had its road match with No. 6 Virginia rescheduled for Wednesday. The teams will meet in Charlottesville at 4 p.m. The men's tennis team has rescheduled its match with Towson for Friday. The home match will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday's match was a make up for a match originally scheduled for March 31, but rain that day forced the original postponement.

The baseball road game at University of Maryland-Baltimore County was postponed with no makeup date yet scheduled. It was supposed to be the first game for UMBC under its new lights. The baseball team has already had one game cancelled this year due to weather (April 1 vs. Brown) and has not yet rescheduled a game postponed on March 16 vs. Georgetown.

The only team that will remain in action on Tuesday is the softball team, which hosts a doubleheader with LaSalle. The first game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
