Wilmington, N.C.-The Patriots took their four-game winning streak to Wilmington to take on conference rival UNCW and the Seahawks stopped the run, winning 6-1 to improve to 13-7. Mason drops to 5-11 overall, 2-1 in the conference.

The Seahawks took care of all but one singles match, winning each in straight sets. Sophomore Jenn Dektas (Maineville, OH/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) won her match on the tie-breaker, 6-3, 4-6, 10-8. She improves to 6-10 on the season. Freshman Maricel Ballester (Lima, Peru/St. Margaret) had her six match winning streak stopped by Lindsey Hess at the number one singles spot, 6-2, 6-1.

The doubles matches were won by the Seahawks as well, with the closest match decided by an 8-3 score.

The Patriots will play at Towson on Monday at 3:00 p.m.
