RICHMOND, Va. - George Mason University standout Meg Dentler (Crofton, MD/Arundel) was named the Colonial Athletic Association women's lacrosse co-Player of the Week for all games played March 22-28, the conference announced Monday.

A 2003 Brine US Lacrosse/Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (USL/IWLCA) South all-Region selection and the 2002 CAA Rookie of the Year, Dentler is the first Patriot to earn the CAA award this season. She shares the honor with Becky Trumbo of Towson.

Dentler was solid in goal in two Patriot victories last week, as Mason snapped a two-game losing streak. She posted 13 saves in a 14-6 home win over George Washington and recorded a career-high and CAA season-high 24 saves in Mason's 10-8 upset victory at #15 Boston University.

The junior netminder has now made 72 saves this season and 504 for her career, putting her 15 stops shy of breaking the Mason school record held by Jolette Solanga (1994-98). On the week, Dentler stopped 37 shots and compiled a .725 save percentage and a 7.00 goals against average.

This season, Dentler has been key to George Mason's 2-2 overall start. She has totaled 10 or more saves in each of the Patriots four games and currently leads the CAA with 18.00 saves per game. She is also tied for first in the league with a 63.2 save percentage, which ranks fifth nationally.

Dentler has also been recognized this week as an honorable mention selection from InsideLacrosse.com and is the Division I Player of the Week from the website bluefishriver.com.

George Mason hosts No. 5 Loyola Wednesday at 7 p.m. before beginning CAA play at home Friday against Old Dominion at 7 p.m. Mason concludes the week at No. 17 William & Mary Sunday at 12 noon.
