Emmittsburg, MD-The Mount St. Mary's tennis squad defeated the Patriots, 5-2 on their home courts on Wednesday afternoon.
Masons two points came from the No. 1 and No. 6 singles spots. Tim Bainton played the No. 1 singles spot for the first time this season and defeated Drew Arbeitor in three sets, 1-6, 6-0, 7-5. Nick Schapiro defeated Matt Ross in three sets, with the third set decided in a tiebreaker, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7-3).
Mount St. Mary's won the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches to gain the point. The Patriots No. 3 team of Miles Hughes and Nick Schapiro defeated the team of Stuart/Ross, 8-5.
