Fayetteville, Ark. -
Alyce Williams was disappointed last year when she missed the cut to qualify for the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships by one place. This year, she received an invitation and she made the most of her experience.
Williams advanced from the preliminaries into the finals this past weekend at the annual meet, held this year in Fayetteville, Ark. In the end, she finished ninth with a distance of 12.93 meters. She also received a tremendous individual honor as she was named an All-American in the event.
Williams is the 105th All-American in George Mason women's track and field history and the 40th in indoor track and field. She is the first to earn the honor in the indoor season since Cydonie Mothersill and Angie Brown in 1999.
