Fairfax, VA-The Mason men's tennis team is still searching for that first victory of the dual season after losing their fourth match of the season on Saturday, February 28 to the Georgetown Hoyas, 7-0. Georgetown swept all the singles matches and two of the three doubles for the win.
The Patriots No. 2 singles player Tim Bainton was the only Mason player to push his opponent to three sets, winning the first 6-4, then dropping the next two, 6-2, 6-3. Georgetown's No. 1 singles player Dennis Cravedi handed Mason's top player Tito Ballester the loss, 6-4, 6-2, dropping Ballester to 1-3 in duals this season.
The No. 1 doubles team of Tito Ballester and Tim Bainton beat the Hoyas team of Dennis Cravedi and Erik Bildman, 8-5. The other two doubles matches were easily won by Georgetown, 8-3 and 8-2.
