George Mason University hosted the Patriots Games on Saturday afternoon and both the men's and women's track and field teams qualified additional athletes for the ECAC and IC4A Championships.

Sophomore Marc Kellman had already qualified for the Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America Championships in the triple jump and on Saturday, he added two more events to the list of those in which he'll compete in March. He won the long jump on Saturday with a leap of 7.54 meters. Kellman was also part of the 4X400-meter relay team that won on Saturday in a time of 3 minutes, 19.53 seconds. Also on that team were Henry Harris, Richard Phillips and Ricardo Melbourne.

Like, Kellman, Melbourne and Phillips and exceptional days. Melbourne not only qualified for the IC4A in the 60-meter hurdles, he also provisionally qualified for the NCAA meet when he finished the hurdles in 7.90 seconds. Phillips had already qualified for the IC4A meet and provisionally qualified for the NCAA meet in the 60-meter hurdles. At the Patriot Games, he added a trip to the IC4A in the 60-meters when he won that event with a time of 6.91 seconds.

The other male athlete to qualify for the IC4A on Saturday was Ryan McCoy, who will compete in the triple jump. His second-place leap of 14.79 meters means that he will join Kellman and Wayne Wright in competing in the triple jump. McCoy was also second in the long jump on Saturday.

Other top finishes for the Patriot men were Harris, first in the 400-meters, Sammy Sesay, second in the 60-meters, Jonathan Martin, second in the high jump, Mashel Jackson, second in the 800-meters, and Michael Akindele, fourth in the 800-meters.

The women's team added two to the contingent they will send to next month's Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference meet. The number of athletes and events in which the Patriots will compete rose by two on Saturday, reaching a current total of 10. Joining Paula Bailey, Nichole Brown, Sheena Davidson, Kim Morgan, Alyce Williams and Alycia Williams are Alicia Lowery and Sheena Goss.

Lowery ran a 7.71 in the preliminaries of the 60-meters to qualify for the ECAC. She finished fourth in the finals, behind teammate Shamekia Louis, who was second, and ahead of Morgan, who was fifth. Lowery was also third in the 200-meters. Goss, meanwhile, qualified in the 800-meters with a time of 2:12.95, as she was the second-finishing collegian. Davidson, who had already qualified for the ECAC meet, finished just ahead of her as the top collegian. Dana Early and Ryann Holmes came in as the third-placing and fourth-placing collegian, respectively.

Other top finishes for the Patriot women were Alyce Williams, first in the triple jump and 400-meters, Morgan, second in the long jump and 200-meters, Aisha Williams, third in the 60-meters and fourth in the triple jump and Louis, fourth in the long jump and 200-meters. The women's 4X400-meter relay of Early, Lowery, Alyce Williams and Kathy Williams was third.
