Final Stats

The George Mason University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Virginia Tech Indoor Invitational this weekend and the Patriots had a tremendous showing in the men's triple jump where three of the top four spots went to George Mason athletes.

Marc Kellman won the event with a leap of 15.14 meters, a jump better than any Patriot recorded all of last season. In second place was Ryan McCoy, who leapt 14.55 meters. Wayne Wright was solidly in fourth with a jump of 14.36. Those three were among the only four to jump further than 14 meters. While they were the only Mason athletes to have a top three finishes, they weren't the only ones with solid performances.

Richard Phillips finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.97 seconds, within one-tenth of a second of his fastest time last year. Henry Harris was fourth in the 200-meters with a time of 21.76, just three-thousandths of a second behind the top Patriot time last year.

On the women's side, Alycia Williams finished fifth in the 400-meters with a time of 55.13. Her top time in 2003 was 54.57, and no one else ran faster than 55.40. Sheena Davidson was fourth in the 800-meters with a time of 2:13.48.

The Patriots are in action again on Saturday when they host the Patriot Games.
