FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason men's golf team opens its 2003 fall season this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, at the Navy Invitational, which will be held at the USNA Golf Club in Annapolis, MD.

Under fifth-year head coach Linda Gaudi, the Patriots return a solid group led by senior Craig Mason (Lorton, VA/Hayfield), who is a two-time regional All-American. Also expected to lead the team will be seniors Carl Jacobson (Moline, IL/Moline) and Ben Hogan (Centreville, VA/Centreville).

Last season, Mason paced the Patriots at the Navy Invitational with a two-round total of 144 (74-70), which tied him for 10th. Jacobson fired a 153 (77-76), while Hogan scored 156. As a team, the Patriots finished seventh overall out of 15 teams with a 308-293=601 score.
