SUNSET BEACH, N.C. - George Mason men's golf placed ninth out of 20 teams at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate golf tournament, held at the par 72, 6,761-yard Rees Jones Golf Course in Sunset Beach, NC. The Patriots finished with a score of 36-over par 612 (309-303), one stroke ahead of Columbia and The Citadel, which both tied for 10th. Davidson won the event at 12-over par 588 (296-292). Gardner-Webb placed second (591), while host Elon and Pfeiffer both tied for third with 595.

George Mason senior Craig Mason (Lorton, VA/Hayfield) tied freshman Nick DeSimone (Sykesville, MD/Liberty) for 20th overall out of 100 individuals. Both players carded 150 with identical 76-74 rounds. Senior Ben Hogan (Centreville, VA/Centreville) shot 76-78=154 to tie for 39th. Senior Carl Jacobson (Moline, IL/Moline) finished in a tie for 64th (81-77=158) and freshman Dan Hurley (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County) carded 163 (85-78) to tie for 86th.

The Patriots take a few weeks off before heading to the Pirate Fall Intercollegiate in Greenville, NC, Oct. 20-21.
