ANNAPOLIS, Md. - George Mason's men's golf team is in 12th place out of 14 teams following day one action Saturday at the Navy Fall Invitational. The Patriots shot a 304 over the par 71, 6,611-yard US Naval Academy Golf Course. Georgetown leads the pack with 280 while Towson (285) and Winthrop (290) round out the top three. This event marks the opening fall contest for the Patriots.
Senior Craig Mason (Lorton, VA/Hayfield) and sophomore Mike Kirby (Virginia Beach, VA/Kempsville) are both tied for 19th overall in the standings out of 71 individuals after firing two-over par 73. Senior Ben Hogan (Centreville, VA/Centreville) is tied for 50th (78) while sophomore Mike Cavanagh (Perham, MN/Hibbing) is tied for 60th (80). The Patriots are playing with only four members on their team after one of the players was disqualified.
The Navy Fall Invitational concludes on Sunday.
