FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason University recently announced that head women's tennis coach Michael Coleman resigned to become the head coach at Division II Nova Southeastern in Florida.

Coleman only just completed his second year with the Patriots, guiding the team to the quarterfinal round of the 2003 Colonial Athletic Association tennis championships and a 5-14 overall mark (1-7 CAA).

The Patriots also finished 2-14 in his first year, but despite two straight losing campaigns, Coleman had been making strides in improving the team's results. Mason's five wins last year were the most for the team since earning seven victories during the 1998-99 season.
