FAIRFAX, VA ... The George Mason University men's and women's track & field teams will compete on their home track this weekend as the Patriots host the inaugural NCAA East Regional Track & Field Championships. The largest of the nation's four regions, the East includes 110 men's track & field programs and 112 women's programs.
George Mason University has 12 athletes competing in 13 events this weekend. The men's team has six athletes in seven events -- two-time Olympian senior Serge Bengono (100, 4x1), junior Ricardo Cunningham (800), senior Henry Harris (400, 4x1), Outstanding Performer of the CAA Championships sophomore Richard Phillips (200, 110 H, 4x1), freshman Sam Sesay (4x1) and junior Wayne Wright (High Jump). The women's team has six athletes in six events -- sophomore Sheena Davidson (400, 400 H, 4x4), junior Sheena Goss (800, 4x4), senior NamTasha Joyner (4x4), junior Kim Morgan (Long Jump) and freshmen twins Alyce Williams (Triple Jump) and Alycia Williams (400, 4x4).
