HARRISONBURG, Va. - George Mason fell to 3-7 on the season and 0-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association after dropping a 7-0 decision to archrival James Madison in men's tennis action Friday afternoon at the JMU Tennis Courts.
The Dukes sweep singles and won two of three doubles contests to claim the doubles point. The duo of junior Tito Ballester (Lima, Peru) and freshman Stephan Dufils (Paris, France) recorded an 8-3 win for Mason at No. 1 doubles.
Ballester and Dufils also played into a third set super tiebreak after the Dukes had already clinched the match. Both players won the first set of their respective contests, but would fall in the second to force the tiebreak.
The Patriots host UNC Wilmington Saturday at 10 a.m. at the GMU Tennis Courts. The match will be part of a doubleheader with the women's squad.
