FAIRFAX, VA ... The George Mason baseball team is ranked for the fifth consecutive week and has broken into the Top 10 in the Northeast Coaches Poll conducted by CollegeBaseballInsider.com.
George Mason is ranked 10th in the latest weekly poll, announced April 15, in which coaches from the Colonial Athletic Association, the Atlantic 10 Conference, the Big East Conference, the America East Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the Northeast Conference are allowed to vote. Mason entered the Top 15 poll for the first time on March 18 at No. 13.
The Patriots have won 11 straight games to set a school record (breaking the mark of nine set twice previously) and take a 22-10 overall record and a 7-1 mark in the CAA into this weekend's three-game Colonial Athletic Association series at Delaware. The Patriots and Fightin' Blue Hens (2-6 CAA) meet Friday at 3 p.m. and at 1 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at Bob Hannah Stadium.
