FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason men's and women's tennis programs have announced rescheduled dates for matches postponed this season due to inclement weather.
On the men's side, the Patriots match at Towson, which was originally slated for Tuesday, April 8 at 3 p.m., has been rescheduled for Monday, April 14, at Towson at 2:30 p.m. Mason's home match versus Drexel from Saturday, March 29, will not be made-up.
The GMU women will replay their postponed Tuesday, April 1, match at Loyola on Monday at 3 p.m. in Baltimore. Home contests against Drexel and George Washington and away matches versus Howard and American have officially been cancelled.
Both teams are in action this weekend as the Patriots host Coppin State Friday as part of a doubleheader. The contest has been moved indoors beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Burke Racquet Club due to expected rain in the D.C. area on Friday.
Both teams then travel to Colonial Athletic Association opponent Old Dominion on Sunday as part of another doubleheader. Matches are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. The Lady Monarchs are ranked 74th nationally in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association listings.
George Mason's men's team is 3-8 this season and 0-4 in the CAA. The Patriots are at UMBC this afternoon. The Patriot women are 3-11 and 1-6 in conference play.
The CAA Men's and Women's Tennis Championships run April 17-20 in Richmond, Va.
