FAIRFAX, VA ... The George Mason baseball team is ranked for the third consecutive week in the Northeast Coaches Poll conducted by CollegeBaseballInsider.com.
George Mason is ranked tied for 13th with Central Connecticut State in the weekly poll, in which coaches from the Colonial Athletic Association, the Atlantic 10 Conference, the Big East Conference, the America East Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the Northeast Conference are allowed to vote. Mason entered the Top 15 poll for the first time on March 18 at No. 13, and it was tied for 14th with Central Connecticut State last week.
The Patriots take an 11-10 overall record and a 1-1 mark in the CAA into this week's games. Mason meets Coppin State at Raymond H. "Hap" Spuhler Field today at 2:30 p.m., visits UMBC Wednesday at 3 p.m. and returns to Spuhler Field to host Drexel in a three-game CAA series over the weekend. The Patriots and Dragons meet at 2:30 p.m. Friday, at 2 p.m. Saturday and at 1 p.m. Sunday at Spuhler Field.
