FAIRFAX, Va. - James Madison swept George Mason 7-0 Friday afternoon in Colonial Athletic Association women's tennis action at the GMU Tennis Courts. The Patriots fall to 3-9 on the season and 1-4 in conference competition.
The Dukes were too much for the Patriots, winning all six singles matches in straight sets while also earning victories in the three doubles contests. Mason senior Dinali DeSilva (Negombo, Sri Lanka/Stafford International School) put forth a valiant effort at the No. 1 position, dropping her match after taking her opponent to a second set tiebreak, 3-6, 6-7(4).
George Mason is in action again Saturday at 1 p.m. at the GMU Tennis Courts as it hosts Drexel in CAA competition. The match will be part of a doubleheader with the Mason men's tennis team.
