FAIRFAX, VA ... All games scheduled for the George Mason University baseball and softball teams this weekend have been postponed or cancelled.
The home opener for the Patriot baseball team, scheduled for Friday at Raymond H. "Hap" Spuhler Field against local rival Georgetown, has been postponed. No make-up date has been set.
George Mason's games with Army (on Saturday) and with Central Connecticut State (on Sunday), set for Shirley Povich Field in Bethesda, MD, as part of the Hoya Invitational, have been cancelled. Those games will not be rescheduled.
Mason's games at Coppin State on Tuesday, March 4, and home against George Washington on Wednesday, March 5, also have been postponed with no make-up dates set.
The Patriot softball team was to compete in the Dixie Classic in Virginia Beach on Saturday and Sunday, but inclement weather has caused the cancellation of the tournament.
In addition, George Mason's softball doubleheader with the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, scheduled for George Mason Field on Wednesday, March 5, has been postponed. No make-up date has been set.
