FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason's men's tennis match, which was scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Maryland, has been postponed due to inclement weather, head coach Gary Quam announced. No make-up date has been set.
It is the second straight postponement for the Mason men's teams, which is still waiting to play its season-opener. The Patriots were supposed to begin their 2003 campaign at Navy, February 15, but inclement weather also cancelled that event.
The Patriot women also announced today the rescheduling of two matches that were postponed earlier this season due to the weather. Mason's Feb. 22 contest at George Washington has been rescheduled for April 8, at 3 p.m. Yesterday's postponed match against Loyola is now set for April 1 at 3 p.m. in Baltimore.
George Mason men's team, which sits at 1-1 overall and 0-0 in the CAA, will try to open its spring schedule at the GMU Tennis Courts, March 5, against Coppin State at 1 p.m.
The Patriot women, who are 1-5 overall on the season and 0-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association, are in action on Saturday versus UMBC at the Burke Racquet Club in Burke, VA.
