CAA Swimming & Diving Championships to be Held at George Mason

Delaware's Van Deusen Wins Women's 3-meter Diving CAA Championship

FAIRFAX, VA... Delaware's Julie Van Deusen won the women's 3-meter diving title at the 2003 CAA Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday evening at Jim McKay Natatorium on the George Mason campus, but the host Patriots placed five divers in the top ten to grab an early lead in the overall team standings.

Van Deusen won with a score of 458.25, followed by Drexel's Kara Boate (417.75) and George Mason's Ashley Craw (417.20).

Women's team standings after the 3-meter dive final, which was the only event held Wednesday, are: George Mason, 73; Drexel, 28; Delaware, 20; William & Mary, 20; UNC Wilmington, 8; James Madison, 6; Davidson, 0; Old Dominion, 0; Towson, 0.

The CAA Swimming & Diving Championships continue with a full slate of women's and men's action Thursday, with trials beginning at 10 a.m. and finals starting at 6 p.m.
