HARRISONBURG, VA ... James Madison won four of the seven matches wrestled and took advantage of three George Mason forfeits to defeat the Patriots, 31-13, in a Colonial Athletic Association college wrestling dual meet Wednesday at Sinclair Gymnasium.

James Madison broke a three-meet losing streak as it improved to 5-10 overall, 4-5 in the CAA, while George Mason dropped its fifth consecutive meet to fall to 2-12 overall, 2-6 in the CAA.

Opening the meet at 165 pounds due to a random draw prior to the meet, George Mason junior Sean Early scored a takedown 24 seconds into overtime to win a 7-5 decision, but the Patriots would forfeit the next three matches and the Dukes' Matt Coffey won an 8-2 decision at heavyweight as James Madison took a 21-3 lead.

Sophomore Aaron Suranofsky got the Patriots back in the meet as he won by fall in 56 seconds at 125, but James Madison's Todd Schroeder would win a 16-8 major decision at 133 and Chris Wilson won a 10-5 decision at 141 to clinch the team victory for the Dukes as they took a 28-9 advantage. Mason junior Rob Becker (ranked 18th in the nation by InterMat) took an 18-4 major decision at 149 before JMU's Brian Consolvo finished the meet with a 9-7 decision in overtime at 157.

George Mason concludes the regular season on Wednesday, Feb. 26, when it hosts Old Dominion at 7:30 p.m. at the John Linn Memorial Gymnasium.
