KITTY HAWK, N.C. - George Mason freshman Nick DeSimone (Sykesville, MD/Liberty) fired a 68 to earn co-leader status following first round action at the ODU/Seascape Collegiate, held in Kitty Hawk, NC. DeSimone, who is tied with Liberty's Andrew Turner for the overall individual lead, tied his career-best round of 68, which he shot at the JMU Invitational on Sept. 21. As a team, the Patriots are in fourth place out of 16 teams with a score of 292. Liberty (280) leads the event, followed by Virginia Commonwealth (289) and Wofford (290). Mason senior Craig Mason (Lorton, VA/Hayfield) is tied for 10th overall after carding an even par-72. The final round takes place Tuesday.
