FAIRFAX, VA...The George Mason swimming and diving team competed at James Madison Sunday. The women posted a 140-91 win, while the men were defeated 134-108.
Mason's women are now 6-1 on the season and the men are 4-2.
For the women's squad, Lauren Stinnett and Christy Anderson each won two individual events and were also part of the victorious 200-yard medley relay team.
Stinnett, a junior, won the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:34.11) and captured the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.25).
Anderson, a sophomore, took the 200-yard IM (2:10.25) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.95)
The duo combined with Stefani Lubore and Sam Ladeveze to win the 200-yard medley relay (1:51.21).
Lubore also won the 200-yard backstroke (2:09.28), while Ladeveze picked up a win in the 50-yard freestyle (24.93).
In diving, sophomore Mary Campioli captured both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. She scored 267.725 in the 1-meter and 280.65 in the 3-meter.
On the men's side, Tim Norton won the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:45.18) and the 200-yard butterfly (1:55.80), while John Appleman swept the dives with a 273.825 in the 1-meter and 284.70 in the 3-meter. Both Norton and Appleman are freshmen.
Additionally, senior Cameron Charlton won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:05.03).
The Patriots, who still have several conference and national championships on their slate, compete in their final dual-meet of the season this Saturday at George Washington. That meet begins at 10:30 a.m.
